Happy New Year!

We made it to 2009! The holiday break started early with a big snow storm the Friday before Christmas. We got 10+ inches in about 12 hours, so needless to say, I didn't go into work. Some of the snow pics are from that day. The pile at the end of my driveway was about up to my shoulders. We headed down to Illinois on Saturday and encountered all the ice that had hit down that way. It was a cold few days, but hanging out inside wasn't so bad. We made Christmas goodies, relaxed and the girls had fun playing. We spent Christmas eve in Morton and made our way up to Dan's side of the family on Christmas Day. We got to enjoy several days here as well. We returned to Michigan prior to the new year (hoping our driveway wasn't snowed over) and fortunately some warm weather had melted it off. We ended December with around 55 inches of snow (already!!!) - and Winter just started! Guess it comes with the territory. Bad news, sometime Sunday (or before) I'm guessing the pipe going out to our back hose decided to freeze and burst, causing a minor flood in our basement. Unfortunately this wasn't discovered until Monday morning. Fortunately, mostly everything down there was in bins, but still not fun. We did just get AT&T U-Verse installed, so are now excited to have lots more to watch on TV and the internet at home (so no excuses for not updating this blog more frequently). All & all, I can't complain. We are doing well and ready for all the excitement the new year will bring. Best Wishes!

Here Comes Winter!

Hopefully this slideshow will let you enjoy more pictures w/o scrolling down the site. Things are good here in Michigan. November went fast. The girls and I went down to visit family for Thanksgiving. We made the trek down to Quincy, as a cousin of mine was having his wedding reception. Both of the girls are dancing fools! I had to drag them from the dance floor. Paige started taking steps in November and now has the walking down pretty good. It's so fun watching her move around that way. The tree is up and the snow is falling up here. Last weekend alone, I bet we got close to a foot. You can check out the pics. It feels like we've been getting a lot of the lake effect snow, but tis the season, right? It was nice to get some sunshine today. The snowman was from the Morton snow after Thanksgiving. Tess, Hallie and I had fun...I must say it's been awhile since I've really played out in the snow. Looking forward to the upcoming break. Just a week and a half to get through first. Enjoy!
